nissan rogue
The season opener of Heroes premiered last night along with the Nissan Rogue in a not-so-deft bit of product placement. Scene: exterior, day. An indestructible cheerleader and her adoptive father stroll across a high school parking lot to the family car. Cheerleader suggests, in the manner of teenagers everywhere, how much her life would be improved if she had a car. Adoptive and doting father then indicates that she can have the family car. She screams in pleasure, "Oh daddy, the Rogue!" As well she might, since the car can only be a week old--the Rogue went on sale September 18.
Other possibilities considered, then rejected, for Heroes-Rogue product placement:
Central American brother and sister encounter turistas in a Rogue, but the sister accidentally kills them with her superpowers. Much regret, but oh well, free car.
Japanese time-space traveler blips back to 1671 in a Rogue, proceeds to save villages, make Kensei Takeshi a real hero, and start the Japanese automotive industry about 300 years early.
Indian scientist joins evil organization dedicated to hunting down superpowered people and is given a Rogue as his company car.
Too bad there wasn't an X-Men series, Rogue could have driven a Rogue. Oh, wait, Heroes is kind of the X-Men
